Gabriela Celis-Guevara

Behind the artworks is an emerging artist and architect student, Gabriela Celis-Guevara.  Gabriela was raised in Regina where she later moved to Calgary and studied at the University of Calgary in Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in architecture in 2015-2021.  Currently, she studies a graduate degree in architecture at the University of Calgary and she is an entrepreneur of Celisia.   

 

Gabriela’s artworks explore the concept of identity (in general).  Identity is inquisitive and intriguing to seek and comprehend.  It leads individuals to pose the query regarding what makes them who they are and why they do the things they do.  By exploring, reconnecting, and embracing one's identity it can aid them in understanding, accepting, and managing their mental illness.  Her goal in the Art of Mindfulness is to re-educate individuals (including young adolescents) to have the freedom and choice of exploring, reconnecting, and embracing their individuality and identity through using hyperrealist and surrealist digital designs.
