About the Project

The Art of Mindfulness is an initiative started by UCalgary's STEM Art Hub, with the goal of reducing the stigma around mental health and promoting an empathetic, science-based understanding of mental health. Students at the University of Calgary will create various 2D artwork themed around mental health, which will be exhibited in the Little Gallery from October 25th - 29th and Nov 1st - 5th 2021. The art created for this project will also be sold to raise funds for the Mathison Centre for Mental Health, which is a centre dedicated to mental health research and education!

There will also be a reception for this event, featuring our keynote speaker, Dr. Brad Nyeck, presentations from student artists, and a chance for attendees to win awesome prizes! Go to our Exhibit & Reception page for more info.
