Emine E. Atak, also known as Eymen, is currently a civil engineering student and a visual artist who explores the complexities of human nature. Eymen primarily works with watercolour and ink to focus on the themes of human degradation and human behaviour. Finding human nature intriguing, she began analyzing and reflecting upon the unjust events happing around her. Through these reflections, she is able to create symbolic, dark, and surrealistic pieces of art that often leave room for interpretation and interesting conversations. With her use of colour and subject matter, she draws attention to the topics that are most important to her, including mental health and social justice.

Currently, Eymen is a youth facilitator and consultant in the LOOP sculpture project – a project aiming to build permanent sculptures in the Northeast community through storytelling and by connecting with the land we reside on. Apart from her artist facilitator roles, Eymen spends time further exploring her style and experimenting with different mediums such as gouache paints. Regardless, of her style and art medium, she aims to still create symbolic art pieces regarding different social injustices that still persist around her.
